Cleveland, one of the most widely and most favorably known women in this community died this morning at her residence on Cleveland avenue in the Boucher Addition, after a short illness. Mrs. Cleveland was taken suddenly ill last evening. Medical assistance was summoned but in spite of all that could be done the stricken woman sank rapidly until seven o'clock at which time she died. Cleveland, one of the most widely and most favorably known women in this community died this morning at her residence on Cleveland avenue in the Boucher Addition, after a short illness. In 1861 she with her relatives crossed the plains in an ox team and upon arriving in California she took up her residence here where she has resided ever since. "The deceased was known as woman of excellent qualities, at all times having the interests of others at heart. She was always willing to extend a helping hand to those in want and never failed when occasion presented itself to do an act of charity. Besides her husband, George Cleveland, the deceased leaves six sons and one daughter, all residing in this city. "The funeral will be held at four o'clock tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon from the family residence. The services will be those of the South Methodist church of which denomination Mrs. Cleveland had been a life-long member.
