Snapp was born in Belmont county, Ohio, November 7, 1814(sic); died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Holmes, west of Hillsboro, Ohio, May 26(sic) 1899, aged 84 years and 6 months. Her husband, Samuel Snapp, preceded her to the better land forty-five years ago. He was a member of M. E. Church and lived as becomes a consistent Christian. Mrs. Snapp in early life joined the Presbyterian church, but afterward joined the Methodist Church in order to be with her husband. When her husband died she was left with four children; one a lovely child of six, was too frail for this cold world and God took him to be one of his jewels. One son lived to comfort his mother for thirty years and then he went to join his father and brother. One daughter, Mrs. Sarah Coffman, living in Calhoun, Neb., was not permitted to be with her mother in her last illness, it being of such a short duration, but arrived in time to look upon the face of her mother cold in death. The two daughters, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren live to mourn the loss of a dear and loving mother and grandmother.
