Eliza Flesher and Alexander Gilbert were married September 27, 1862 in Jay County, Indiana. The 1900 federal census show that Eliza and Alexander had been married 38 years and were the parents of 9 children. Five of those children were living in 1900. Alexander Gilbert was a veteran of the Civil War. After his death, Eliza filed for a widow's Civil War Pension on December 21, 1908.
