ELIZA ROE AT METHODIST CHURCH Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Roe, 85, who died March 21 at the home of her son, J. Dorsey Roe, in Camdenton, Mo., were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and burial was in the Versailles cemetery under the direction of Bankston-Woolery, funeral directors, Camdenton. Rev. Val B. Strader was in charge of the service. Hymns were sung by a quartet composed of H. A. Meyer, Mrs. Eunice Morris, O. L. Leatherman, and Mrs. Val Strader, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Walta Franse. Eliza Ellen Doyle, daughter of John S. and Lurania Doyel, was born April 8, 1861, near Proctor in Morgan county. She was the fifth child in a family of 12 children--ten girls and two boys--ten of whom preceded her in death. She grew to womanhood in this community, where she was united in marriage to Joseph Franklin Roe, November 4, 1880. To this union were born three children: Mrs. R. P. Routon, Mrs. J. L. Dunnaway, and J. Dorsey Roe. At the age of 11 years, the deceased united with the Methodist church at Proctor. In 1907, she transferred her membership to the Versailles Methodist church, remaining a member until her death. She spent her entire life in Morgan county with the exception of the last two years which she spent in the home of her son in Camdenton. She is survived by her son and two daughters; one brother, John H. Doyel, Versailles; twenty grandchildren; twenty-two great- grandchildren; and a wide circle of friends.
