She was married in 1874 to Tom Morris. They moved to farm where they purchased north of Aurora. where they had since made their home. To this union five chldren were born. Age 83 years 11 months and 6 days. She was married in 1874 to Tom Morris. They moved to farm where they purchased north of Aurora. where they had since made their home. To this union five chldren were born. Mrs Alta Clark and Walter of Oelwein. Frank, Elmer, Merle and Earl at home. A grandson Floyd Clark at Oelwein and a sister Mrs William Powell of Arlington also survive. Mr Morris passed away about 33 years ago and since that time, Mrs Morris and her sons have lived on and operated the home farm together. She had been in failing health for some time but was able to be up and around most of the time until a few weeks ago. She was stricken with a heart attack and death was due to a complication of diseases due to old age. Funeral services were held at the Union Church Wednesday afternoon with Rev Chamberlain the methodist minister at Arlington officiating. Singers were Mrs Ellen Irvine and Miss Katherine Kapes of Oelwein. Burial was made in the Union cemetery Arlington News Thursday 2/13/1936 pg 1 Eliza Jane Miller, third daughter of Jacob and Sarah Miller, was born near Wyota, Lafayette county, Wisconsin, March 7. 1852. She died at her home in Putnam township, Fayette county, February 9, 1936. She spent her early life in the community of her birth but moved to this community with her parents when she was 20 years of age. On January 26 1873, she was married to Thomas Morris. They established their home on the parental farm. There born to this union five sons an done daughter, all of whom are living. they are W M Morris of Oelwein, Mrs Robert Clark of Oelwein; Frank, Elmer, Merl and Earl of Aurora. Two sisters and three brothers are living, namely: Mrs William Powell of Arlington, Mrs Josephine Kinniburgh of Des Moines, A D Miller of Arlington and Charles and J Miller of Washington state. There is one grandchild. Mr Morris preceded his wife in death. Funeral services were held at the Union church, southwest of Arlington at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, February 12, in charge of the Rev A B Chamberlin.
