Description	:	Eliza Weil Muller was a true pioneer. She was born in a log cabin on the banks of the Turkey River in Iowa. At the age of 11 years, she being the oldest, helped her mother care for her 2 brothers and sister while her father served in the Union Army of the Civil War. At the age of 11 years, she being the oldest, helped her mother care for her 2 brothers and sister while her father served in the Union Army of the Civil War. At the age of 14, the family moved to Benton County, Iowa, in a covered wagon to make their home on the raw prairie 2 1/2 miles north of Blairstown, Iowa. In 1884, Mr. and Mrs. Muller with a family of small children came to Ida County, Iowa, again to make their home on the prairie. She saw many stages of progress, from log cabin with earthen floor to our present homes. In her early home, she often assisted her mother in making tallow candles, then their only light. Eliza Weil was the eldest daughter of Frederick and Sophia Weil. She was born at Clayton Center, Iowa, July 28, 1852, and passed away April 16, 1930, age 77 years, 8 months, and 19 days. Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery. She grew to womanhood in Benton County, Iowa. She married William Konrad Muller, Sept. 12, 1872. It was their privilege to walk the path of life together for over 54 years. They had 11 children, Lavina, Fred, Theodore, Arnold, John, Henry, Walter, Josephine, Sophia, Marie, and Miss Anna. Services were held at her home conducted by Rev. J H. Iversen. She had been baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Survivors include 9 children, one brother Teddie Weil of Blairstown, Iowa; 39 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Her husband preceded her in death, along with one son, Fred, and one daughter, Lavina Muller Ludwig (1925) They moved to Ida County the spring of 1884 to the farm they occupied by their youngest daughter, Lavina Muller Ludwig, living in Maple Township near rural school No. 7 southeast of Battle Creek, Iowa. They remained on the farm until February 26, 1915. They then moved into Ida Grove on Quimby Street. Children: David Theodore Muller; Frederick; H. John and Henry of Dell Rapids, S.D.; Walter of Ida Grove and Arnold of Greeley, Co.; Mrs. T. W. Miner of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Mrs. Bert Ludwig of Battle Creek, Iowa; Lavina Muller Ludwig, Miss Anna of Ida Grove; and Marie Muller Graversen of Ida Grove; Brothers: Theodore Weil of Blairstown, & Frederick Weil, Jr..
