She had lived in Mason City about 35 years. Mrs. Hogan was born Sept. 9, 1904, at Spillville, daughter of Wenceslaus and Mary (Jarosh) Balik. She attended the public schools in Spillville and came to Mason City in 1921. She was married to Frank E. Hogan May 15, 1933, in Mason City. She was married to Frank E. Hogan May 15, 1933, in Mason City. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Holy Family Guild. Surviving are her husband, Frank; six brothers, Anton Balik, and J.W. Balik, Spillville; John Balik, Waucoma; Louis Balik, Calmar; Joe Balik, Mason City; Frank Balik, Spillville; five sisters, Sister Mary Aloysisu, N.D., Spillville; Mrs. John (Lena) Shileny, Spillville; Mrs. A.G. (Emma) Schmitt; Mrs. W.B. (Carrie) Hughs; and Mrs. Wesley (Celia) Kolda, Mason City. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters. Requiem High Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. A.J. Breen will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Mason City. Friends may call at the Colonial Funeral Home until the time of services.
