ROGERS Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Lougheed, Glen Huron, Ont., after an illness of two weeks, aged 83 years, 11 months, 6 days. Deceased was born in the Township of Tecumseth, Simcoe County, in the year 1841, her maiden name being Miss Elizabeth Agnew, sister of the late Robert Agnew, Meaford, and was married to Mr. John Rogers, St. Vincent, who predeceased her 16 years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss, five sons and five daughters. Isaac John, 3rd line St. Vincent; Andrew of Epping; Mrs. R. Elyea, Toronto; Robert of Vancouver, BC; Arnold of Brandon, Man.; H.A. of Carmen, Man.; Mrs. E.F.R. Zoellner of Prince Albert, Sask.; Mrs. George Buckingham, Bengough, Sask.; Mrs. John Mallory, Vancouver, BC; Mrs. John Lougheed, Glen Huron, Ont. She was predeceased by two sons and one daughter. Isaiah of three years, Elizabeth, nine years and Samuel who died in Alberta four years ago last September. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. John Schmietendorf, Toronto; and Mrs. George Keenan, Thornbury; 51 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Deceased in religion was a consistent member of the Methodist Church and one of the early pioneers coming from the Township of Tecumseth to St. Vincent 62 years ago And highly respected by all who knew her and she was always ready to lend a helping hand. The remains were taken to Thornbury Cemetery for burial.
