Moeller died at her home at 6:45 a.m. as the result of a lingering illness at the age of 73 years 9 months nd 26 days. Mrs. Moeller, who had made her home in Lake View for the past twenty-four years, had been active in the work of the Methodist church, the Eastern Star, The W.C.T.U., W.R.C., the Rebekahs, Past Noble Grands Club, Kensington Club and the Priscilla club. It was only in the last few years that Mrs. Moeller realized her activities were too great for her strength and was forced to withdraw from active participation in them. Funeral services were held in the Temple Funeral Home at one o'clock and in the Methodist church at 1:30 on Tuesday of this week. Reverend Castle and the Rebekah Lodge were in charge of the services at the church. Reverend Castle read from the 2nd and 3rd verses of the 8th chapter of Matthew as his text for the term "Life's Beauty", chosen by him for his brief remarks. The Rebekah lodge read the memorial service requested by Mrs. Moeller prior to her death. Music for the funeral was furnished by Elizabeth Finders, Mrs. Castle, E.A. Swanson and A.B. Canady who sang "Jesus, Lover of My Soul"", "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer, My God To Thee", with LaGene Phillips playing the accompaniment. Interment was made in Denison in Oakland Cemetery where a brief service was held later in the afternoon. The pallbearers were C.W. Spencer, Rufus Kowalke, Wm. Dean, Fred Wells, C.W. Zeilman and Al Lille. Elizabeth Ames Baker, daughter of P.W. and Mary Jane Baker, was born September 23, 1866 at Farmer City, Illinois and she passed away on June 9, 1940 at her home in Lake View, Iowa. While still an infant she came with her parents to Dewitt, Clinton county, Iowa, where she resided until about fourteen years of age. At that time the family moved to Crawford County, Iowa, finally settling at Denison. On August 3, 1886 she was united in marriage to August L. Moeller of Denison, Iowa, where they made their home until 1916 when they moved to Lake View where they have since resided. To this union were born four children, one of whom, Birney C., preceded her in death on September 20, 1938. Surviving her are the devoted husband, two sons, A.L. of Lincoln, Nebr., John A. of Chadron, Nebr., one daughter Dortha (Mrs. Dick Whitney) of Lake View, seven granddaughters, one grandson, two great granddaughters and one brother, P.W. Baker of Ketchikan, Alaska. At an early age she united with the Methodist church of which she has since been a faithful and conscientous member. Just four years ago Mr. and Mrs. Moeller celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary - memories which doubtless brought her hours of happiness during her prolonged illness. Her life as wife and mother has left her husband and children much that will comfort them during this hour of bereavement. During the days of her last illness her devoted husband was her constant companion, doing much to alleviate the discomfort of that period. She lived a full and useful life. Being by nature of a happy and cheerful disposition, she leaves a host of loving friends who will miss her greatly. The honorary pallbearers who officiated at the cemetery at Denison were M.B. Jones, Peter Werner, Robert Moeller, Arnold Moeller, Asa Baker and Asa Jones. Mrs. Tarpy and Mrs. Wells were in charge of the flowers and the ladies of the Rebekah lodge and of the W.R.C. served dinner to the relatives and friends at noon.
