Description	:	"Elizabeth Anderson Metz, third daughter of a family of seven, was born to Lewis and Sarah Ann Anderson in Bedford county, PA., November 30, 1860. The family moved to Illinois in 1865, where they lived for two years. In 1867, Mr. Anderson filed on a homestead and brought his family to Seward county, Nebraska the following year. When the Church of the United Brethren in Christ was organized in a school house five miles northwest of Seward, she had her name on the roll and remained a member for 19 years. The family moved to Illinois in 1865, where they lived for two years. In 1867, Mr. Anderson filed on a homestead and brought his family to Seward county, Nebraska the following year. She was the last surviving charter member. On Christmas Day, 1875, Elizabeth Anderson became Mrs. John Metz. Mr. Metz died in 1929. To this union were born two sons and a daughter, Arthur who died in 1879, Albert Allison who passed away in 1949, and Mabel Anna Metz Kirk. She was an active worker in the various departments of the church until her health made it imperative that she retire from active service. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was active in some of the charitable organizations and the W.C.T.U. She passed away November 30, 1954, at the end of her observance of her 94th birthday. She leaves the following: Mabel and Bert Kirk, Silver Lake, Kansas, with whom she made her home in recent years; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Olga A. Metz, York; a sister, Miss Belle Anderson, Ansley, Nebr.; a niece, Cora Smith Briggs, Lincoln, and Wilbert Langworthy, Paco, Calif., both of whom were raised in the family; Mrs. Ann Langworthy; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, besides nieces, nephews, and other family connections and friends. She was buried in the Anderson Cemetery at Seward on December 3, following services at Evangelical United Brethren Church, Rev.
