Elizabeth Ann Moon was born on December 2, 1957. At age one month, Betsy, as she was known, was adopted by Dale Fredrick and Frances Lucille [Nowack] Moon to join brother Charles. She was found deceased at her rural home outside of Lamoni, Iowa on Friday, July 27, 2012. The family lived in California and Betsy graduated form Bonita High School. She was married and had two sons, David and Billy. Betsy later divorced. She moved to Washington State and worked as a nurse's assistant caring for disabled people. In November 2009, she moved to Lamoni to care for her parents. Betsy enjoyed watching wildlife and growing flowers. She also liked to send cards to family and friends filled with confetti. Preceding her in death were her parents, Frances in 2010 and Dale in 2011, and her infant brother in 1954. Survivors include her two sons, David Kelley and his son Josh; and Bill Kelley and his sons, Bill and Anthony; brother Chuck Moon and wife Wenda of Kodiak, Alaska; three nephews, Jeremiah, Joshua, and Isaac Moon; family friend Marie Hawley of Lamoni; and other relatives and friends. Betsy was a happy person and very thankful for everything she had. She was especially glad to have spent a week with her sons last spring.
