Description	:	Mrs. Elizabeth Sippel, 67, passed away Sunday afternoon at a hospital in Chicago, following a short illness. Mrs. Sippel, who had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Jack Sweeney, at Chicago, had been in failing health for some time, but prior to her last illness her condition seemed to be considerably improved. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, at the Methodist church, with the Rev. F. G. MacKenzie officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Groton cemetery ----------------------------------------------------- Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Sippel, who passed away Sunday, March 16, in St. George's hospital at Chicago, Ill., were held at the Methodist church, Thursday afternoon, with the Rev. F. G. MacKenzie officiating. Ora Schuelke was vocalist, with Mrs. Richardson accompanist. Elizabeth Ann Bettenhausen was born at Manhattan, Ill., July 16, 1882. She was united in marriage to John Henry Sippel on April 22, 1903. In April, 1908, the family moved to Groton, S. D., where she resided until about a year ago, when she went to Chicago, to make her home with her daughters. Mrs. Sippel was a meber of the Eastern Star and the Methodist Ladies' Aid. The departed leaves to mourn, five daughters, Mrs. Dave Sims and Mrs. Jack Sweeney of Chicago; Mrs. Lydia Lilja of Claremont; Mrs. Jack Grinolds of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Andrew Wehde of Groton; two sons, Milton and Wesley Sippel of Groton; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Koehler of Blue Island, Ill., Mr. Borms of Frankfort, Illinois, and Mrs. Emma Koehler of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Walter Bettenhausen of Frankfort, Ill., and Harry Bettenhausen of Mokena, Ill.; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her husband and one son, Clarence, preceded her in death. Pall bearers were: Vance E. Miller, Clayton A. Deitz, Jack Johnson, Dr. L. H. Eske, Fred Frommel and A. J. Schuelke. All children were present at the last rites. Mrs. Sippel had been in failing health for some time, but prior to her last illness her condition seemed to be considerably improved. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a kind and thoughtful friend and neighbor. Her quiet and amiable disposition won for her the affection and admiration of a host of friends. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.
