Description	:	Elizabeth Ann Nelson was the third child of Miranda (née Pearre) and Burgess Nelson, junior, born on 3 August 1824 in Frederick County, Maryland. The Nelson family moved in the early 1850s to neighboring Carroll County, Maryland Eliza A. Nelson and Henry G. Wiles were married on 25 February 1856 in Carroll County, Maryland. The couple resided in Jefferson, Frederick County, Maryland, where their four daughters were born. Eliza died in 1867—reportedly from cancer—about 3½ months after the birth of her last daughter.
