She was born January 2, 1931 to Gerhard T. and Olga (Regier) Rempel. After graduation from Henderson High School in 1948, Elizabeth married Levi H. Friesen on August 6, 1948. They farmed together for nearly 50 years and were married 61 years. They had four children: Ken, Ruth, Tim and Lee. Read More	Elizabeth Ann (Rempel) Friesen, age 86 of Lincoln, NE, formerly of Henderson/Aurora, NE, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Lincoln. She was born January 2, 1931 to Gerhard T. and Olga (Regier) Rempel. After graduation from Henderson High School in 1948, Elizabeth married Levi H. Friesen on August 6, 1948. They farmed together for nearly 50 years and were married 61 years. They had four children: Ken, Ruth, Tim and Lee. The most important thing in Mom’s life was her realization of her personal need of a Savior. As a young girl, she was helping clean house at her aunt’s house and listening to Back to the Bible radio program. In the discussion that followed, Mom asked Christ to be her personal Savior. Elizabeth practiced a life of serving others. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and expressed hospitality to all. She loved her family and gave selflessly. She loved seeing the grandchildren sit around the kitchen table eating fresh baked zwieback and cookies. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, and quilting baby blankets for current and future great grandbabies. One of mom’s favorite pastimes during her later years was putting together puzzles. She loved having anyone who stopped to see her become involved in her hobby. Elizabeth continued spending time in prayer for her family and those she met. She enjoyed reading the Bible and would smile as she would say, even in her difficulties, “This is the Day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.” Mom treasured the friends she met on her life journey. Left to cherish her memory are her son Ken and wife Amy Friesen ; Ruth and husband Dale Strasser; Tim and wife Debbie Friesen ; and Lee and wife Valerie Friesen . Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth leaves behind a brother Walt Rempel (Anna), sister Esther Wall and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, husband, Levi, great granddaughter Lucy Friesen, parents, and brother, John Rempel. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, NE. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 pm at Stockham Community Church, Stockham, NE. The Rev. Paul Nauman will be officiating.
