Read More	Council Grove Republican, Friday, March 5, 1937, page 4: Obituary Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Hebrank Elizabeth Ann Siecgrist [sic] was born on a farm near Alma, in Wabaunsee County, Kansas, on February 15, 1864, and departed this life on February 23, 1937, at Council Grove, Kansas, at the age of 73 years and 8 days. Her father was killed in the Civil War, while she was an infant, leaving his widow and 2 small children, Mrs. Hebrank and a brother, John, just a babe in arms. As a child, she knew all the experiences of a pioneer life in what at that time was the Far West. She was united in marriage on September 17, 1882 to Eugene F. Hebrank, of Council Grove, and as a bride she moved to the home northeast of Council Grove, in Warren township, where nearly all the balance of her active life was spent, and where together with her late husband, one of our county's finest farm homes was built up and maintained, and where for nearly a half century they were an active part of that community. To this union eight children were born, reared, educated and sent out into the world as useful citizens as follows: George Hebrank, of Council Grove; Mrs. Mary Munkres, and Mrs. Emma Maas, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Lillie Stoll of St. Charles, Ill.; Mrs. Tillie Rochat, of Wilsey, Albert Hebrank of Council Grove; Ernest Hebrank of Murtaugh, Idaho, and Mrs. Eugenia Kinkel of Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Hebrank was essentially a home builder, all of her interest was in her family and home, an education for each of her children, and the building up of the community and home surroundings was her life's ambition, how well she succeeded, is patent to all. Mr. and Mrs. Hebrank moved from the farm to the home in Council Grove during the fall of 1923. Mr. Hebrank passed away in November 1928, since which time she has made her home most of the time in Council Grove. One by one the pioneers who made the sacrifices and expended their energies to build up our state and county are being called to rest, and their reward. In this pioneer mother's passing, we can all join with the hope that we who have benefited by her work and example will carry on, as she would have us do.
