Description	:	Elizabeth "Betty" Schillig, 85, of 1 Metric Road in Iowa City died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2001, at her home following a short illness. Services are Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City. Mrs. Schillig was born on April 7, 1916, in Davenport, the daughter of Henry G. and Adel V. Bradley Grady. She married Karl E. Schillig Sr. on Jan. 27, 1935, in Iowa City. She moved to Iowa City in 1921 with her family and graduated from St. Patrick's High School. She was an operating room technician for oral surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, retiring in 1979. She had also been employed at Mercy Hospital in the recovery room. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, the National Catholic Society of Foresters and the Legion of Mary. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Hrubik and her husband, Tom, of Moore, OK, and Susan Murdock and her husband, Joel, of Muscatine; a son, Karl Schillig Jr. of Coralville; 12 grandchildren, Doug, Teri, Kim, Lisa, Christine, Andrew, Chris, Brian, Michael, Jolene, Sara and Stephanie; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Rolland and Stephen; three brothers; and four sisters.
