Description	:	Elizabeth Anne, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude A.McMinn, who live on the Wilbur Cooley farm 16 miles south of Imperial, met her death in a most sad and tragic manner Thursday afternoon May 27th, 1954. The child, who was one year and nine months of age, was accidently drowned in a water tank on the farm. Read More	Elizabeth Anne, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude A.McMinn, who live on the Wilbur Cooley farm 16 miles south of Imperial, met her death in a most sad and tragic manner Thursday afternoon May 27th, 1954. The child, who was one year and nine months of age, was accidently drowned in a water tank on the farm. She had been away from her mothers side only a matter of a very few moments, but in that brief time had made her way to the water tank, fallen in and drowned. A doll which the little girl had been carrying was found floating on the water in the tank and it was speculated that the child may have dropped the doll into the tank and fell herself while trying to retrieve the doll. The little girl was brought to the Imperial hospital as quickly as possible, and the resuscitation was used for a considerable tme, but death had already occurred, and effort to revive her were of no avail. Elizabeth Anne, baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude A. McMinn Jr., was born Aug. 29, 1952 at Benkelman, Nebr., and departed this life on May 27 1954, at the age of one year and nine months. She is survived by her parents, three sisters, Carol, Patricia & Josephine, and two brothers, Jimmy and Claude Jr. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Claude McMinn Sr. of Hamlet, Nebr. and Mr. and Mrs.Chester Berry of Wauneta, Nebr. She is survived by one great-grandmother, Mrs. Cora Berry of Jamesport, Missouri. Her loss will be felt by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her life was likened unto the life of a flower. The sweetness therof enhances and blesses the lives of all who came in contact with her throughout her short stay here. Services were held Memorial Snday at the Church of Christ in Wauneta. Rev. Orval Hunt as the minister. "In the Sweet By and By", "Goodnight here and Goodmorning Up There", "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", and "He Cares for Me" were the four selections sung. Interment was at the Hamlet Cemetery with Johnston Serice of Wauneta, in charge. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were; Mrs. Pauline Jonston and daughter Lana Lou of California, Mr. and Mrs. Dean McGilvary and children of McCook, Mr. and Mrs. Clark McMinn of McCook, Mrs Minnie Murray, Mr.& Mrs. Lester Browning, John and Cester Browning of St. Frances, Kan.and Mr. & Mrs. Lute Troxel of Palisade.
