As of August 26, 2022, the following was found for various birth record searches for Stillman + Lord, George Stillman, Sarah Lord, etc. SD birth records only exist for Grace and Olive Stillman. SD birth record for Violetta won't be published until 1925 so can check again then. As of August 26, 2022, the following was found for various searches of Stillman + Lord, George Stillman, Sarah Lord, etc. SD birth records only exist for Grace and Olive Stillman. Alta (1907), Alice, Hazel, Elmer and Ella (1917) were all born in Iowa. Elizabeth (1918) was the first to be born in SD followed by Grace (1920), Olive (1922) and Violetta (1925), also born in SD. It seems unlikely that Elizabeth (1918) would have been born in Iowa. One remaining source will be Yankton County birth records which will become public information after 100 years or approximately 2017. From the plot map, Block 709 is part of the "North Catholic Cemetery" and the burials are either all or mostly infants that died in 1917. As of July 7, 2015, there is an error in the "Cemetery Viewer site and "Baby Stillman" is listed as "Baby SPILLMAN". However, the cemetery records show the correct spelling of "STILLMAN". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Due to the following factors, the contributor, a descendant of George and Sarah Stillman, is assuming that "Baby Stillman" is Elizabeth Stillman, the daughter of George and Sarah Stillman: + George Stillman's parents owned a farm North of the State Hospital in Yankton. + George Stillman registered for the 1917-1918 draft in Yankton, SD. + The Stillman families were in transition of moving from Iowa to SD at the time Elizabeth was born. Census records demonstrate that the Stillmans resided in Iowa in 1910 and Wessington Springs area of Jerauld County, SD in 1920 and 1930. + This is the only known "Stillman" internment in Yankton County. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Elizabeth was the 6th of 9 children born to George and Sarah (Lord) Stillman. The Stillman Family History genealogy site includes Elizabeth Stillman", Jan 4-6, 1918 with birth and death in Yankton County, SD. There are multiple reports of DOB and DOD with minor differences: 1) Born 1917, lived 3-days per George & Sarah Stillman Family History. One report is that Elizabeth was a "Blue Baby" or stillborn. 2) Died 1917 at Age 2 months per Yankton Municipal Cemetery records. Possibly this should have been two days instead of two months? 3) Born Jan 4, 1918, Died Jan 6, 1918 per http://www.stillman.org/h1481.htm Younger sister Ella was born in Iowa in 1915. Older sisters Grace and Olive were born in Wessington Springs, SD in 1920 and 1922. We've driven by the farm. There are pictures of the house they lived in. Mom said that she, Hazel and Elmer used to go stay there to help their grandparents at times. That was before they moved to the farm by Scotland.
