ABBOTT Another member of the group who formed the original polulation of Huntington passed from the scene early yesterday afternoon when death claimed Mrs. Elizabeth Beals Abbott, 62 years old, wife of Colonel Darwin E. Abbott, retired. Mrs. Abbott came to Huntington with her parents, the late Captain and Mrs. B. P. Driggs in 1872, the year of the city's incorporation. She came here from Boston, her native city. ABBOTT Another member of the group who formed the original polulation of Huntington passed from the scene early yesterday afternoon when death claimed Mrs. Elizabeth Beals Abbott, 62 years old, wife of Colonel Darwin E. Abbott, retired. Mrs. Abbott came to Huntington with her parents, the late Captain and Mrs. B. P. Driggs in 1872, the year of the city's incorporation. She came here from Boston, her native city. Two years later she became a member of the First Congregational church and at the time of her death she was the senior member of that congregation. Her membership dated from the second year of the history of the church. Her parents were prominent in the organization of the church. Her marriage to Darwin E. Abbott, then a rising young manufacturer, took place in 1883. Beside her husband she leaves an adopted daughter, Lucy, and one sister, Mrs. Paul Lang, of Orford, N. H., now enroute here for the funeral services which will take place at the residence 725 Ninth street, West, at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Fred W. Hagan, officiating.
