Description	:	Last Wednesday Mrs. James Gnow, who lived with her husband just southeast of the city limits, was taken violently ill, and the physician summoned pronounced it was a case of poison by strychnine. Everything possible was done to save her life, but after lingering until Friday morning at 4 o’clock; she died. There is no positive evidence that she took the poison, but every indication is that she did. There was no known reason why she should desire to end her life. The deceased was 62 years of age, was born in Ohio, and married Mr. Gnow there thirty-nine years ago. They came to Boone County 28 years ago, and lived on a farm west of town until last year, when they came here to live. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Christian chapel, D. J. Poynter conducting the services. At the request of the husband, a coroner’s inquest was held, and the jury returned a verdict that the deceased came to her death from poison taken with suicidal intent.
