Betsy's parents are not known. _________________________________________________ When Elizabeth "Betsy" Covington died in 1830, she was buried next to Joseph's and her house in what is considered part of the Joseph Covington Family Cemetery, in Rockingham County, NC. There are approximately five other graves there that have fieldstones for markers with no legible names. There are several "Covington Cemeteries" in North Carolina. This family cemetery is not noted on all web sites for Rockingham County. However, the burial sites are located at the former Joseph Covington Family Farm that is located at 215 Holland Road, Leaksville (now Eden), NC. This family cemetery is listed on the Rockingham County North Carolina Cemeteries web site and gives location, directions, and pictures. In 2000, Sandra Covington Turney, GGG Granddaughter of Joseph and and his 1st wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" (maiden name unknown), located the Covington farm and burial sites of her ancestors after searching for 7 years. Several pictures were taken of the grave markers after some clean up to make them readable. Jerry Tate Dryden, a GG Grandson of Joseph Covington and Joseph's 2nd wife, Elizabeth R. Hudnall, later visited the family farm cemetery and also took pictures of the grave sites. There are several known burials at the farm, but they are in two different places. Besides Betsy's grave next to the farm house, the other place is across the road from the farm house. Known to be buried there are Joseph Covington (Elizabeth's husband), Richard Hudnall, Sr. (Joseph's second wife's father) and Samuel Hudnall, son of Richard Hudnall, Sr. The children of Joseph & Betsy Covington of Rockingham County, NC were listed by name and date of birth by a document written by their son-in-law, Richard Nathan Hudnall, who married their daughter, Catharine Covington.
