Burial will follow in Ehrhardt Cemetery. Mrs. Copeland was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Hampton County and was a daughter of the late William Madison Robertson and Flossie Louise Hamilton Robertson. She was a well known local artist and active community member. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she was recently named 'Woman of the Year' in the United Methodist Women's Missionary Club. She was a former member of the Huguenot Society of Charleston. She was a secretary for 17 years at Ehrhardt Tractor Company, was a former secretary at Patrick Henry Academy, and worked for five years at the Office of Aging. She loved to work with flowers and to crochet. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will always be remembered for her love of people. Survivors include her husband, Edward J. 'Jack' Copeland, of Ehrhardt; her children, Coleen Gray Baker and her husband, Dr. J. David Baker III, of Charleston and Joette Gray Hiers and her husband, William Carroll Hiers, of Ehrhardt; four grandchildren, Calin Hiers and Kara Hiers, both of Ehrhardt and Tiffany Baker and Jackson Baker, both of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Meyer, of Fairfax and Mrs. Caribel R. Sullivan, of Fairfax. She is also survived by a special niece, Mrs. Susan Lightsey, of Jacksonville and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Francis Robertson, of Ridgeland. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel, Ehrhardt.
