Bontrager and Savilla Kaufman Bontrager on March 31, 1914, at Holmes county, Ohio, and passed away August 14, 1988, at Heritage Nursing Home in Geneva at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 14 days. Bontrager and Savilla Kaufman Bontrager on March 31, 1914, at Holmes county, Ohio, and passed away August 14, 1988, at Heritage Nursing Home in Geneva at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 14 days. She was one of seven children in the family. Elizabeth was married to Rudy E. Byler of New Wilmington, Pa., on January 28, 1949, and to them five children were born and they adopted one child. Elizabeth was a member of the United Methodist Church in Geneva. She was very active in the Senior Citizen Center. Her interest were canning and crocheting. Elizabeth was preceded in death by sisters, Magdalena Hershberger, Susan Miller, Sara Ann Hershberger and Edna Bontrager; one brother, Daniel Bontrager and by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Rudy; two sons, William of Rantoul, Ill., and Ernest of Geneva; three daughters, Mrs. Bob (Ida) Vanderwarks of Youngsville, Pa., Sara Dean of Rantoul, Ill. And Mrs. John (Savilla) Bennett of Wilber; a sister, Mary Wolf of Orbille, Oh.; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Thursday, August 18, with the Rev. Cal Leeds officiating. A taped selection of “Amazing Grace” was played. Serving as pallbearers were Ernest and William Byler, John Bennett, Bob Vanderwarks, Robert Hopkins, and Homer Brauning. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery.
