DAN DRISCOLL Respected Woman Passes at Her Home Near Bernard After a lingering illness Mrs. Dan Driscoll passed away at her home in Garry Owen at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, August 16th, at the age of 56 years. She was a daughter of the late James and Bridget Brady. She leaves to mourn her death her devoted husband, four sons, Albert, Leo, Eldon, and Wilfred, and step-son Walter, two daughters, Mrs. Leo Beck, of Dubuque, and Jettie, at home, and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Mary Cahill, Mrs. Peer McKenna, and Mrs. Susie Thompson, of Dubuque, Frank, of Monticello, Patrick, of Bernard, two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. She was a true wife and mother and she has passed to her reward in fullness of years, of all that years were worth. Her life was an example of Christian virtue and devotion, an ideal mother, faithful friend and kind neighbor. She was a consistent and devout member of the Catholic church and died fortified by the last rites. She adhered closely to its teachings during her lifetime and her admirable traits of character were exemplified daily as an excellent Christian mother. The surviving husband and children have the deep-felt sympathy of many friends in the loss they have sustained. The funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church, Garry Owen, at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning. Requiem high Mass was celebrated by Rev. Conry, who spoke words of comfort to the surviving relatives. Eight nephews, Leo and Frank Noonan, Vincent Driscoll, Dennis Dullea, Mike Cahill, Edward, Alfred and Bernard Brady were the pallbearers. "Much must be borne which is hard to bear. Much given away, which it were sweet to keep, God help us all who need indeed her care—And yet, I knew, the Shepard loves His sheep."
