Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Theewen died at St. Joseph's Villa on Jan. 24, after an illness of almost three and one half years. She was born in Germany on May 2, 1872, and came to this country at the age of six months. In St. Francis Church in Lincoln, on April 13, 1915, she was married to Philip Theewen, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her stepchildren, Matthew Theewen and Clara Weverka of Hillsboro, Ore., Ethel Safranek, Portland, Oreg., and Gilbert, Carl, Marie DeWispelare, and Laurene Cermak, all of David City; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Barter, Kansas City, Kan., and a brother, Nick C. Brocker of Lincoln. Mrs. Theewen was a member of St. Mary's Church and of the Altar Society. Attending the services from away were Mrs. Glen (Pearl) Hedges and Geo. Barter of Kansas City, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. Nick Barter, Mrs. Martha Rowen and sons Donald and David, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Theewen, all of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Theewen and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mahoney of Cedar Rapids and others from Surprise, Garrison, Columbus, Bruno, Brainard and Bellwood.
