She was born on February 29, 1920 in St. Paul, Iowa to Edward and Elizabeth Vantiger Meierotto. On September 6, 1949 she married Leonard S. Krogmeier at St. James Church in St. Paul, IA and he passed away on July 5, 2000. She was a homemaker and helped her husband for many years on their dairy farm. Madison, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 10:51 AM at the West Point Care Center. She was born on February 29, 1920 in St. Paul, Iowa to Edward and Elizabeth Vantiger Meierotto. On September 6, 1949 she married Leonard S. Krogmeier at St. James Church in St. Paul, IA and he passed away on July 5, 2000. She was a homemaker and helped her husband for many years on their dairy farm. Elizabeth was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Altar & Rosary Society and CLA. Elizabeth loved to work in her gardens. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidering and made rosarys. In her younger years she and Leonard enjoyed traveling. She was a 4-H leader for many years for the Jefferson Jills. Survivors include her son, Linus (Audrey) Krogmeier of Congerville, IL; three daughters, Rita (Sam) Wenke of Bonaparte, Agnes (David) Borofsky of Wichita, KS and Evelyn (John) Wenke of Ft. Madison; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one on the way; three step great grandchildren; daughter – in- law, Janet Krogmeier of Ft. Madison; two sisters-in-law, Gisela Meierotto of Ft. Madison and Mary Krogmeier of Mt. Pleasant. several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Adrian; four brothers, one sister; two brothers and a sister in infancy Friends may call after 2 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory where the family will meet with friends from 4:30 -6:30 PM. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM and a wake service will be held at 6:30 PM both at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Lee County Hospice or the stained glass window fund at Sacred Heart church.
