Description	:	Xenia Daily Gazette 02 Nov 1897 Mrs. Davis, widow of the late John Davis, affectionately called Grandma Davis, died this morning at 2:00 o'clock at her home on North Limestone street, Jamestown, from the infirmities of old age, lacking nineteen days of being 89 years of age. Mrs. Davis lost her husband some nineteen or twenty years ago. She was the mother of eight children, four of whom are dead and four living as follows: Mr. David Davis, of Jamestown, Mr. J.J. Davis, of Muncie, Ind, Mrs. Nathan Carpenter, of near Bowersville, and Mrs. Daniel Taylor, of Jamestown, who had made her home with her mother, taking care of her for some years. Mrs. Davis was a native of Jamestown, and had lived in the house where she died some 33 years. She was a member of the Methodist church and a woman whom everybody respected and loved.
