Reverend Father A.J. Wagener, pastor of St. Mary's was the celebrant of the Mass. Father Schaefer of Danbury was deacon and Father A.G. Schaefer, of Charter Oak, was sub deacon. Reverend Father A.J. Wagener, pastor of St. Mary's was the celebrant of the Mass. Father Schaefer of Danbury was deacon and Father A.G. Schaefer, of Charter Oak, was sub deacon. This solemn service was attended by the twelve children of the deceased, (illegible) and her brother from Chicago, and by many local people who wished to pay tribute to her sterling character. The deceased was born in Ireland, in 1845 and was 71 years 7 months and 1 day of age at the time of death. She was married to Mr. Flynn in Ireland fifty three years ago and three years later the couple with their one son came to this country and settled in Pennsylvania and later came west through Indiana and Illinois and forty seven years ago settled in Dunlap where they lived for a number of years. Eight of the past sixteen years were spent in Mapleton at two different times and the other eight at Oto, Iowa. The surviving relatives are her husband, Cornelius Flynn and the following children, John, of Rodney, Michael, Mrs. John Clinton, of Soldier, Mrs. J. E. Putnam, of Mapleton, Mrs. Fred Whitehorn, of Hartington, Neb., Mrs. Guy Smith, of Mapleton, Mrs. James Ryan, of Mapleton, Mrs. Fred Payne, of Laurel, Neb., and Mrs. J. A. Dyson, of Chicago, Ill. After church services the body was laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery.
