Description	:	The house mentioned in the second newspaper article I [Jack Hultquist] lived in between 1946 and 1952. My grandparents bought it in 1940 and my parents moved in a did some updating. There was so much wallpaper they decided to take it down to the plaster and start new. One room had 12 or 14 layers of wallpaper. Legally it appears that a George R. Gillett had the land in 1889 and in December 1893 James E. Wylie acquired the land. To me the house appeared to be a house built around 1893 so either the Gillett family built the house and lived there for a short period of time or the Wylie family built it. The Wylie family after living there a number of years started renting it out in 1907 or maybe continued to live there. Regardless there were some women who lived there who loved to wallpaper and I am assuming Elizabeth had to be one that did a fair amount of the 14 layers of wallpapering. The 1900 Census states that James E. and Benjamin F. Wylie were teamsters [drove a team of horses with a wagon] and had a cream route. The barn, silo, and 5 acres would have been good for a few milk cows but probably not enough for a cream [milk] route. Meaning other cow owners probably brought milk, cream etc. to them to deliver. _______ Cemetery lot for Elizabeth and James E. Wylie was purchased by O. D. Atwater.
