She married Nelson Jones on November 5, 1845, in Whitley, Kentucky. They raised at least seven children in 13 years. Three were born prior to their marriage; thus most likely Elizabeth was a step-mother to three children and the biological mother of another four children. Elizabeth died on July 29, 1894, in Missouri having lived a long life of 75 years, and was buried in Racine, Missouri. _____ Her first two children (Sarah Jones and Franklin Jones) are listed with the family on the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Census. After 1860, the whereabouts of these two children and who they may have married are currently unknown. Both of these children were likely stepchildren to Elizabeth. Granville Wesley Jones is currently linked on find-a-grave to Elizabeth Eaton Jones. Most likely Elizabeth is the only mother he knew since his father married Elizabeth less than a year after he was born. On Granville's death certificate it indicates his father is Nelson Jones and his mother is Mary Price (see Missouri death certificate #9914). Another three children (Melissa, Henry, Mary) appear to be biological children of Elizabeth Eaton Jones based on review of the U.S. Census and children death certificates. One death certificate listed her name as Rose Eaton which may be a nickname or middle name. See 1850 and 1860 U.S. Census. See Missouri death certificates #5411, #17547, and #1888. Another child, also named Sarah, has been discovered to be born to Nelson and Elizabeth. Sarah Jones is listed in the 1852 Kentucky birth records. She appears to have died young because she is not listed on the 1860 U.S. Census. At first it seemed strange they would name her Sarah since the oldest daughter is also named Sarah. Note the older daughter was born to a different mother, other than Elizabeth. As well, Elizabeth's mother (Sarah "Sallie" Grubb Eaton) is reported to have died in 1850 so it is possible that Elizabeth was wishing to honor her deceased mother.
