Her Death Was on Thursday, Nov. 21, Funeral was on Saturday. Funeral services for Elizabeth Ege, the young girl who was severely burned on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at St. Mary's parish house in David City and died two days later, was held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, at the parish house. Owing to the ban on public gatherings the service was private. Rev. Father Boll conducted the service and had charge of the burial at the grave in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. Details as to the accident which proved fatal to the girl are not exactly known. She was assisting at the parish house, and was sent on an errand to the basement. She evidently did something to the furnace, for shortly after going to the basement she screamed and those in the house rushed to the basement to find her clothing in flames. The blaze was soon put out with a blanket, but not before she had been badly burned on both arms and on her chest and about the waist. She remained in the parish house for care and it was there she died at 11 o'clock Thursday morning. She was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ege, she being 14 years, five months and 20 days old. She leaves two sisters, Julia and Francis. On a farm near David City was where she was born. Several years ago the Ege family moved on land near Erickson, returning to David City a few years ago so that the children could attend St. Mary's school. _______ CARD OF THANKS - We are indeed grateful to the many kind persons who were so good to us during our recent sad bereavement, through loss of our daughter and sister.
