Elaine was born June 4, 1932, at the McGowan home in York to John and Ellen (McGowan) Anderson. She lived on a farm southwest of York until she was 10 years old. Read More	Elizabeth Elaine Leininger, age 80, of York, NE, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 in Lincoln, NE. Elaine was born June 4, 1932, at the McGowan home in York to John and Ellen (McGowan) Anderson. She lived on a farm southwest of York until she was 10 years old. She then moved to the farm that is now 1003 Recharge Road and lived there for the next 70 years. She attended Country Schools #17 and #13 and graduated from York High School in 1950. Elaine was united in marriage to Jerome John Leininger on September 3, 1951 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York. Elaine was a member of St. Joseph's Parish her entire life and was active in Altar Society. She worked as a secretary for St. Joseph's Church, Standard Oil Company, and retired from Pioneer Hi-Bred in 1994. Survivors include her husband, Jerome of York; son Mike and wife Rita of Sidney, NE; daughter Jeri and husband Mike Cunningham of Lincoln, NE; son Dan of York and special friend Mary Jo Ruppert of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren (with another to be born very soon); brother, Harold Anderson of Thorton, CO; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tanny and Marilyn Reinsch of Shickley, NE; seven nieces; and two nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard; sister-in-law, Lois Anderson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Vernon and Marcella Heinz; three nephews, Ron Anderson, Chuck Heinz, and Patrick Reinsch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York with the Reverend Monsignor James Reinert and Father William Kalin officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, York. A Rosary will be said Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Metz Mortuary. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Catholic Social Services or Matt Talbot Community Kitchen and Outreach Center.
