A wedding supper followed. The couple were the recipients of many useful and beautiful presents. Mr. and Mrs. Frantz left the same evening for Bay City, Mich., their future home. Mrs. Frantz is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Dumont. She was born and raised in this city, and, with the exception of a few years' residence in Grand Rapids, Mich., with her parents, she has resided in Marion, being admired by a large circle of friends. Mr. Frantz is a prominent business man of Bay City, Mich., being successfully engaged in the drug business in that city. The best wishes of many friends follow them. Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette June 16, 1903 Mrs. E.E. Franz has begun suit in the district court for divorce from C.H. Frantz. She states in her petition that she is a resident of Marion and has been for the past two years. She was married there November 29, 1900. On the following March she alleges that he deserted her and since that time she has been living with her parents. She says that he is engaged in the mercantile business in Bay City, Mich., and is earning a good salary. Divorce, temporary alimony in the sum of $150, and permanent alimony in the sum of $1,000 is asked, besides costs of suit and the right to resume her maiden name, Nannie Lizzie E. Dumont. The Marion Sentinel Thursday October 21, 1948 Services of Lizzie E. Dumont, 75, granddaughter of A.B. Dumont, one of Marion's oldest settlers, were held in the Yocom chapel Friday afternoon with the Rev. Homer F. Perry officiating. She died in a Cedar Rapids nursing home Oct. 13, at 12:40 p.m. Born May 30, 1873, at Marion, she was the daughter of James W. and Rhoda Lake DuMont. In 1889 she moved to Grand Rapids, Mich., but returned here eight years later. In 1906 she moved to Davenport. She and her father returned to Maion in 1936 and she made her home here since he died on Jan. 13, 1937. A member of Marion chapter No. 183 O.E.S., she is survived by several cousins. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
