She died October 11, 1905 in Seattle, King County, Washington. BURNED TO DEATH Mrs. Elizabeth E. Carr of Seattle, Washington, was fatally burned at an early hour last night while attempting to light a fire with coal oil. She died at 10:15 o'clock at night. No one was in the house with Mrs. Carr when the accident took place and it was at first thought that the woman had attempted suicide. This is not believed by the coroner or the members of Mrs. Carr's family. Mrs. Carr had been suffering from nervous prostration for the last seven months and was in the Pacific Hospital for some time and also under the charge of a trained nurse. She had been making her home with her son and daughter-in-law and has been under constant care. About 5:30 o'clock her son and daughter-in-law left the house on an errand to one of the neighbors and during the few minutes that they were gone the accident happened. A. D. Breuning, who was the first person on the scene, stated that he heard Mrs. Carr scream and saw her rush from the house and sink to the ground. He at once hurried to her assistance and with the help of Mrs. Wayne Carr, daughter-in-law of the stricken woman, carried her into the house and administered first aid. Oscar A. Carr, husband of the dead woman, is one of the early settlers on the Sound and is well known in the city. Mrs. Carr leaves two sons, Wayne and Earl, the latter a boy of about 14, and one daughter Dos, about 16 years of age. Mrs. Carr was 52 years old and was one of the most poplar residents of her section of the city-The Seattle Post of September 18. Mrs. Carr was formerly Miss Lizzie Patterson, daughter of John W. Patterson, who was a pioneer settler here and the first treasurer of Montgomery County. He owned about 800 acres of land around Arlington and his body was buried in the Arlington Cemetery in 1897. Mrs. Carr's husband taught school in this county for several years and was teaching at Arlington when he was married. The brothers and sisters of the unfortunate woman are located as follows. Mr. L.
