Description	:	My Aunt Lib (Elizabeth) was a kind and gentle woman. She, too, accepted me into her family. While her 2 sons and 1 daughter were already grown before I showed up in her life, she always told me that she would love to have another little girl to raise. While her 2 sons and 1 daughter were already grown before I showed up in her life, she always told me that she would love to have another little girl to raise. Even though I knew at an early age that I couldn't live with her, just having "the option" to often kept me going when times were tough. Lib had a way of being incredibly nurturing. She made you feel like you were always welcome even if you were just under foot. Vance raised beagles and rabbits...training the beagles to chase, but not kill, the rabbits in his care. He shared his love of dogs, rabbits, and the outdoors with me. I fondly remember all the times when he allowed me to "train" the dogs with him. Lib would come out to get us for lunch and would smile as I explained to her how to train a dog. She assured me I would be the best dog trainer in the world when I grew up. At the time, unbeknownst to me, she was encouraging Vance to cull down the number of beagles he was keeping since he had 30-40 beagles at the time. Plus the rabbits. She indulged him a lot over the years with this "hobby" (breeding, raising, and training beagles). I am reminded today of all the lives that he touched, how Lib was always at his side nurturing those around her (especially with good Southern cooking), and how blessed I was to have had the time I did with them both.
