Pleasant, SC passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Aiken, South Carolina on May 25, 1934, the daughter of the late Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Carter and George William Croft. Mrs. Schwab attended St. Angela's Academy in Aiken, SC, St. Anne's Boarding School in Charlottesville, VA, and Winthrop University. Born in Aiken, South Carolina on May 25, 1934, the daughter of the late Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Carter and George William Croft. A career civil servant, she was a member of the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a former writer for the Moultrie News, having written the weekly Know Your Neighbor column. She was a member of Stella Maris Catholic Church. Mrs. Schwab and her husband established Green Lion and Crofts Gift Shops in Mt. Pleasant. Along with her husband, she was also a dealer in fine antiques. She is survived by husband, William T. Schwab of Mt. Pleasant, SC, daughters, Cynthia Anderson, and her husband, Steven, of Chesapeake, VA, Elizabeth Coleman-Socia , and her husband, Barry, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Ann Coleman Fosberry of Mt. Pleasant, SC, a step-son, Gary W. Schwab, and his wife, Lea, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, a brother, Theodore G. Croft, and his wife, Nancy, of Argyl, TX and a sister, Mary Carter of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren. -Charleston Post & Courier, 11/30/07
