GREENSBORO -- Mrs. Boroughs, cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother, of Plantation Estates, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at her home where she had resided for the past twelve years. Mrs. Boroughs was the daughter of the late Julia Anna Rowell and Samuel F. Gasque. She attended Columbia College for two years and was a graduate of Winthrop University. Mrs. Boroughs was a teacher and principal in the Dillon County School System until her retirement. She was devoted to her family, friends and to the children she taught her entire teaching career. She was active in her church and community and she instilled in her children, the values of being a good citizen and of contributing to the overall well being of the community. Mrs. Boroughs was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Claude Boroughs. Surviving are a daughter, Julia Elizabeth 'Beth' Stubbs and husband, Earl, of Greensboro, NC; sons, Robert Kenneth 'Bob' Boroughs and wife, Carol, of Troutman, NC and Paul Thomas 'Tommy' Boroughs and wife, Barbara. of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Clifford E. Stubbs and wife, Karen, of Greensboro, Julie Elizabeth Dill and husband, Brett, of Coral Gables, FL, Paul M. Boroughs and wife, Kim, of Charlotte, Bryan A. Boroughs and wife, Beth, of Huntersville, NC, Mary E. Tyahla and husband, David, of Arlington, VA, Anna C. Polack and husband, Ryan, of Los Angeles, CA, and Kennan J. Boroughs and wife, Michelle, of Orlando, FL; and twelve great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway, SC. A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 17 at Plantation Estates, Matthews, NC.
