Description	:	A well known Wesley lady, Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Ricke, died Sunday, May 30, at the Good Samaritan Center at the age of 63. Funeral Mass for Mrs. Ricke will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St Joseph's Catholic Church at Wesley with the Rev. Thomas Flanagan the celebrant. Burial is in the church cemetery, Blake's of Wesley in charge of the arrangement. Casket bears are sons of Mrs. Ricke; Charles, LaVerne, Paul, Kenneth, Thomas and Raymond Ricke. Elizabeth Jones, daughter of Thomas and Matilda Finn Jones, was born at Lewiston, Montana October 30, 1918. She graduated from Fergus County High School in Montana in 1937 and attended college. Elizabeth work in Washington, D.C. and in 1944 came to visit her parents, met and married Lou Ricke on September 5, 1944 at Wesley where they lived 1 1/2 miles south of town. Mr. Ricke died in 1969. Elizabeth became a resident at the Good Samaritan Center 2 1/2 years ago due to prolonged illness. While there she enjoyed playing bingo, attending Mass on Wednesday and her new friends. Mrs. Ricke was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Legion of Mary, had been a den mother for the cub scouts, enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and crafts. She is survived by 6 daughters and 6 sons and 2 step-daughters; Beatrice Batt, Algona; Sharon, Mrs. Vernon Meyer, Swea City; Julie, Mrs. Loren Pesicka, Bode; Theresa, Mrs. Loren Pesicka Burt; Rosalie, Mrs. Wilbur Johnson, Wesley; Charles, Des Moines; LaVerne, Algona; Paul, Sheffield; Kenneth, Wesley; Thomas, Whittemore; Raymond, Wesley; Carman, Mrs. Edward Tilkes, Ionia,Ia. and Mrs. Connie Boyer,Postville. There are 30 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 1 step great grandchild. Her parents, husband, 2 brothers and 2 sisters are deceased.
