Description	:	Elizabeth Jane Hobson was born December 3, 1886 to Benjamin and Adelia Hobson in the Harmony community, and died January 3, 1978 at the Pine View Manor in Valentine where she had spent the last three years. She was 91. She attended school at Harmony rural school and graduated from Valentine high school in 1904. She was married to Raymond L. Read More	Elizabeth Jane Hobson was born December 3, 1886 to Benjamin and Adelia Hobson in the Harmony community, and died January 3, 1978 at the Pine View Manor in Valentine where she had spent the last three years. She was 91. She attended school at Harmony rural school and graduated from Valentine high school in 1904. She was married to Raymond L. Sharp, April 16, 1907, and to them three sons and two daughters were born. She spent thirty-four years teaching in rural schools in the Valentine area, in South Dakota and Kansas. Her career covered a sixty-year period, and she was 78 years old when she finally retired from teaching. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, the United Methodist Church, and enjoyed writing, baking and handwork. Her alert, energetic nature and her compassion for all who knew her will stand as a monument to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 1955, a son Kermit in 1964; five sisters and two brothers. Survivors are two sons, Milan and Robert and two daughters, Adelia Hutter and Helen Clark; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and two sisters, Eliza Bunker and Eunice Schemm.
