She departed this life at her home in Gorin, Missouri, Mar 23, 1950 at 10 am at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 21 days. On December 29, 1897, she was united in marriage to Henry Newton Russell, of Arbela, Missouri. To this union was born one son, Henry Stanley Russell of Gorin. Wilson and Mary Frances (Wells) Wilson, was born December 2, 1871, near Neeper, Missouri. She departed this life at her home in Gorin, Missouri, Mar 23, 1950 at 10 am at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 21 days. On December 29, 1897, she was united in marriage to Henry Newton Russell, of Arbela, Missouri. To this union was born one son, Henry Stanley Russell of Gorin. She leaves to mourn her departure her son, Stanley, one grandson, Stanley, Jr., of Des Moines Iowa; and one great grandson, Randy Kent Russell; two sisters, Martha R. Allen of Middleton, Idaho and Mamie Goodwin of Lewistown, Mo. She was the oldest of nine children, being preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who passed away November 18, 1938, three brothers, Joe, Jim and Ray; also three sisters, Rosetta, Eva and Sarah. She graduated from Western college at LaBelle in 1890 and taught school for several years. In November 1883, she united with the LaBelle Baptist church later changing her membership to the Pleasant Grove Baptist church at Gorin, and lived a true Christian life until her passing. She was very active in the church serving as Sunday school teacher and clerk for about 20 years. She was an active member of the Eastern Stars and was Secretary for 15 years. She was a kind, sympathetic mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Funeral service were conducted from the Gorin Baptist church March 25, 1950, at 2 pm by the Rev. J. M. Dawkins of Kirksville, former pastor of this church. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery. The pallbearers were Hutton Hustead, Hud Tennant, Ray Andrews, Fred Monroe, Ralph Shacklett and Lloyd Huckey. Contributor: Mary Jones (48336442) • [email protected])
