Description	:	From the January 20, 1921 Skidmore News, page 1: "Elizabeth Jane Roberts was born in Highland County, Ohio, March 18, 1847, and died at Berthoud, Colorado, January 9, 1921. She, with her parents, came to Missouri in 1866, and had lived here continuously since that time. She was married about the year 1870, to Samuel Bender. To this union were born three children, two sons, E. J. Bender of Berthoud, Colorado, and E. R. Bender, of Arco, Idaho, and a daughter, who is dead. She was converted and joined the M. E. Church in early youth, and had lived a consecrated Christian life. For... Read More	From the January 20, 1921 Skidmore News, page 1: "Elizabeth Jane Roberts was born in Highland County, Ohio, March 18, 1847, and died at Berthoud, Colorado, January 9, 1921. She, with her parents, came to Missouri in 1866, and had lived here continuously since that time. She was married about the year 1870, to Samuel Bender. To this union were born three children, two sons, E. J. Bender of Berthoud, Colorado, and E. R. Bender, of Arco, Idaho, and a daughter, who is dead. She was converted and joined the M. E. Church in early youth, and had lived a consecrated Christian life. For a few years after their marriage, she and her husband lived on a farm near Maitland. Later they moved to a farm west of Skidmore, where they remained until about 22 years ago, when they moved to town. After the death of her husband in October 1919, she lived alone until in December, 1920, she went to Colorado to spend the winter with her son. Death came on Sunday night, January 9, 1921. The body was brought back to Skidmore for burial. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon, January 13, conducted by Rev. C. E. Olson, assisted by Rev. C. H. Sauceman, and the body was laid to rest in the Masonic cemetery. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: E. J. Bender, of Berthoud, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Weller and Mrs. E. Rozell, of Maitland, Mr. and Mrs. Cussman of Mound City, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Samuelson of Axtel, Kans., Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Roberts of Maitland, and Homer Medsker of Graham.
