Description	:	My grandma Doris has her name as "Elizabeth Jane" on some family notes that she gave me. Her memorial service pamphlet says "Jennie E. Ford", while one of the US censuses has her name as "Lizzie J.". Also, her son Vernon's delayed birth certificate (1942, he was born in 1901) has her maiden name as "Jennie Smith". However, I have a very old hand written note in a family Bible page that says "Lizzie Jane Smith was born September 22nd 1873 A.D.", so her given name must have been Elizabeth Jane, and was known as "Jennie". Mary came from a wealthy family and Oliver was selling and signing away her inheritance, she left him and raised three kids alone. She was a life long resident of the Wilton area. She married David P. Ford Feb. 22, 1900 at Wilton. She was associated with the Witnesses of Tipton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26 at 2 pm at the Griffith Funeral home Wilton. The Witness of Tipton will be in charge. Burial will be at Moneka cemetery, Cedar County. Friends may call at the Griffith Funeral home after 2 p m Thursday. __________ Wilton - Jennie E. Ford, 93, of Route 2, Wilton, died Tuesday evening at Muscatine General hospital. Born Sept. 22, 1873 in Cedar County, Mrs. Ford was the daughter of Oliver and Mary King Smith. She was a life resident of the Wilton area. She married David P. Ford Feb. 22, 1909 at Wilton. She was associated with the Jehovah's Witnesses of Tipton. Surviving are two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26 at 2 p.m. at the Griffith Funeral home, Wilton. The Jehovah's Witnesses of Tipton will be in charge. Burial will be at Moneka cemetery, Cedar County. Friends may call at the Griffith Funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. __________ Pall bearers at her funeral were Gail Ford, Carl Herr, Wayne Ford, Clifford Chandler, Kennard "Skip" Schroeder, Raymond J. Schroeder, Jr. __________ There is no headstone where Jennie is buried.
