Description	:	Mrs. Winslow's Rites were held Tuesday. Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Winslow were held Tuesday at 2 PM at the Methodist Church in Keosauqua, with Rev. E. Allen Magill in charge. Burial was in Miller's Chapel cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Barker, Conley Nelson, William Agnew, Bruce Davis, Russell Winslow and Frank Hootman. Music was by Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Williams and Mrs. Ruth Liddy as organist. Elizabeth Jane Barker, daughter of James Cellars Barker and Jane Agnew Barker, was born Sept. 14, 1874 on a farm northeast of Mt. Zion in Van Buren county, Iowa, and died peacefully Sept. 18, 1948 at her home in Keosauqua at 5:15 PM after an extended illness. Her age was 74 years and 4 days. She attended the grade school near the home of her parents and later high school in Birmingham. She was united in marriage on Jan. 19, 1893 to William Corwin Winslow of the same community. They lived on a farm east of Mt. Zion before moving to Keosauqua where she was since resided. To this union seven children were born, Wilda who died in infancy and Velma, who died in May of 1945; and the following who survive, Lloyd B. of Des Moines, Iowa, Mabel Muckler of Los Angeles, CA, Gertrude O'Rourke of Chicago, IL, Robert W. of Bonaparte, Iowa, and Dr. E.J. Winslow of Stockport, Iowa. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Mollie Loofborrow of Pomona, CA, and four brothers, Robert J. and Joe M. Barker of Keosauqua, Iowa, John Barker of Centralia, MO, and Arthur Barker who lives on the home farm northeast of Mt. Zion. Her husband preceded her in death in 1929. When a young girl Mrs. Winslow united with the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, and after moving to Keosauqua, with the Christian Church. In later years she attended services at the Keosauqua Methodist church. Her life was devoted to her family and their welfare, although she had also assisted numerous young people materially when help was needed. She was very much interested in the W. C. T. U. organization and assisted in its work. Her mother, Jane Agnew Barker, was born in Scotland and lived in Ireland until coming to Van Buren County when a young lady. She died in 1902. Her father, J.C. Barker, died in 1924. One sister, Grace Nelson also preceded her in death.
