Steinmetz, 67, died of a heart attack Friday at Carbon County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p. m.. Tuesday at the Congregational Church, with the Rev. Jack Roth, officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Cemetery. She was born Jul 1, 1901 in Kautz, Russia, the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Phillip Knaub. The came to the United States with her parents in 1903 and settled in Nebraska. She came to Laurel in 1911 and except for a period in Tacoma, Wash., had lived in the Laurel area. On March 6, 1921, she married to Christ B. Steinmetz in Laurel. Mr. Steinmetz died in 1951. Mrs. Steinmetz has been a resident for the Past two years of the Mountain View Nursing Home in Red Lodge. She was a member of First Congregational Church in in Laurel. Survivors include two sons, Ruben of Joliet and Arthur of Silesia; four brothers, Phillip Knaub, 1721 Cook Ave., Billings; Alex Knaub, 838 S. 32 St. Billings, Henry Knaub, Warm Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Jake Kukes, Laurel, Mrs Henry Fox, Laurel, and Mrs. N D. Barthalomew, Livingston; and seven grandchildren. Cashmore Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
