She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen T. Randol. She taught school at Southern High School and home economics at Fort Hill High School. She also worked for General Foods. Surviving are one son, Edward V. Stephenson of Rock Ledge, Fla. and one daughter Barbara McIntire, McHenry. At her request her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burdock-Durst Funeral Home, Oakland is in charge of arrangements. The Republican April 13, 2006 Elizabeth Leighton Randol, 101, Loch Lynn, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born March 26, 1905, in Mtn. Lake Park, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Maude (Cale) Leighton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen T. Randol. Mrs. Randol was an educated and accomplished woman with a successful career and family. After the death of her first husband, Lauer Stephenson, she went back to college to earn a master's degree in chemistry at the University of Maryland. She then went on to work at General Foods Corporation as a product manager, touring the country and introducing a new product at the time, which was Minute Rice. She taught school at Southern High School, Oakland, for 20 years, and Fort Hill High School, where she was a home economics teacher. In addition to being a wonderful cook, Mrs. Randol loved to read. She read three newspapers a day and stayed abreast of the news of the world. She enjoyed traveling and went to many exciting places in her life, including Europe, Russia, Haiti, and Alaska. Surviving are her two children, Barbara Stephenson McIntire, McHenry, and Edward V. Stephenson, Rock Ledge, Fla.; four grandchildren, Martha Randol McIntire Park, Charles H. McIntire Jr., Ann McIntire Clifford, and Lisa Stephenson Arnold; and six great-grandchildren, Alexandra Dunbar, Charlie McIntire, Megan and Jessica Arnold, and Charlie and Grace Randol Clifford. All friends, family and any former students are welcome to join us to celebrate Mrs. Randol's amazing life at a memorial service on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2 p.m., at the Burdock-Durst Funeral Home in Oakland, with the Rev.
