Description	:	Elizabeth "Lib" Cantwell Gilland, of Kingstree, widow of B. Thorne Gilland, died June 10, 2010, in Summerville. Born March 26, 1921, in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lila McNair Cantwell. Mrs. Gilland grew up in Orangeburg, SC, and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Degree in Education. She taught in Darlington and Williamsburg County schools for over 20 years. Born March 26, 1921, in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lila McNair Cantwell. Mrs. Gilland was a member of the Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition to her husband Thorne, Mrs. Gilland was preceded in death by her first husband C.P. Mitchell, a son Tommy Mitchell, grandchildren, Greg Mitchell and Stewart Gilbert, and a sister Virginia Nash. Surviving: her sons: Charles P. Mitchell and wife Phyllis of Charleston, Rev. Paul C. Mitchell and wife Becky of Wilson, NC and David L. Mitchell and wife Elizabeth of Summerville, her daughter: Lila M. Williams and husband Charlie Isbel of Davie, FL; sister: Barbara McCabe and husband James of Clemson; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Interment was in Williamsburg Cemetery.
