Description	:	Elizabeth Long Ormsby Meacham passed away September 10, 2014. Lib was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward Ormsby and Julia Cooper Ormsby. She was born August 3, 1916 in Rockingham and married her high school sweetheart, Henry (Ham) Albert Meacham, Sr. on April 12, 1936. They lived happily together for seventy six years until Ham’s death on May 21, 2012. She was born August 3, 1916 in Rockingham and married her high school sweetheart, Henry (Ham) Albert Meacham, Sr. on April 12, 1936. They lived happily together for seventy six years until Ham’s death on May 21, 2012. Lib was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church of Rockingham, where she enjoyed being the hostess for the Ladies Bible Class and playing the piano for the Children’s Sunday School classes. Her interest in flowers and homemaking guided her to join the Rockingham Garden Club and the Ruth Current Homemakers Club. She also served as treasurer of the Richmond County Home Extension Council. Lib will be remembered by her many acts of kindness and her love for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry (Ham) Albert Meacham, Sr.; her parents; sisters, Glady, Violet, Julia, Dot, and Sue; brothers, George, Tom, Leeman, John, and Hilburn; and son-in-law, Joe Mack McLaurin. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, September 15th at the First United Methodist Church in Rockingham with Rev. Mike Sykes and Rev. Allison Farrah officiating. Interment will follow at Eastside Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the McLaurin Center (a non- profit vocational training group for individuals with disabilities), PO Box 413, Hamlet, NC 28345 or First United Methodist Church, PO Box 637, Rockingham, NC 28380.
