Description	:	Elizabeth Louise "Betty" (Drefke) Macumber, daughter of Carl and Harriet (Braasch) Drefke, was born August 7, 1919, at Norfolk, Nebraska. Betty died Sunday, October 27, 2013, at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center, Norfolk, Nebraska. Betty spent her early years living in Norfolk, Nebraska and later moved with her family to Haxton, Colorado. The family then returned to Norfolk, Nebraska where Betty attended Norfolk (NE.) Betty died Sunday, October 27, 2013, at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center, Norfolk, Nebraska. Betty spent her early years living in Norfolk, Nebraska and later moved with her family to Haxton, Colorado. The family then returned to Norfolk, Nebraska where Betty attended Norfolk (NE.) High School, graduating with the Class of 1936. During her lifetime, Betty was blessed with four children: Robert, Douglas, Glen, and Joan. Betty raised her family in Norfolk, Nebraska where besides being a mother and provider for her children, worked various cleaning jobs and did cake baking. She thoroughly enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for special occasions, having designed and prepared wedding cakes for all of her children and several grandchildren. Betty lived for her children and grandchildren; they were her entire world, and she loved them all very much. Betty was baptized in the Lutheran Faith at Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk, Nebraska and was a lifetime member with the exception of the short time her family lived in Colorado. She was an active member of the church, teaching Sunday School for 40 years. Betty was preceded in death by: parents; son, Robert "Bob" Macumber; daughter, Joan Jansen and Joan's husband, Mel; two brothers and two sisters. Burial was in New Lutheran Cemetery, Norfolk, Nebraska.
