Description	:	From Audrey Allison, 11/17/2012: Elizabeth M., "Lee" Chick, a resident of Pleasant View North Retirement Center in Damascus died suddenly at Salem Community Hospital on January 26, of renal failure. A lifelong resident of East Palestine, she was born on May 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Ross Chick and Catherine Ferraiuolo Chick. After graduating from high school in 1939, she worked in her father's businesses, Chick Brothers Grocery and Ross Chick Wholesale Tobacco and Candy Company. Read More	From Audrey Allison, 11/17/2012: Elizabeth M., "Lee" Chick, a resident of Pleasant View North Retirement Center in Damascus died suddenly at Salem Community Hospital on January 26, of renal failure. A lifelong resident of East Palestine, she was born on May 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Ross Chick and Catherine Ferraiuolo Chick. After graduating from high school in 1939, she worked in her father's businesses, Chick Brothers Grocery and Ross Chick Wholesale Tobacco and Candy Company. She resided in Youngstown from 1964-1974 where she was employed by Central Candy and Supply. She was also a member of St. Christine's choir at that time. She returned to her roots in East Palestine and worked for Electrical Refractories until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she served as organist and cantor and was a member of the St. Mary's Ladies Aid Society. She was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she was a past President and had served as a volunteer with Meals On Wheels. Elizabeth was an accomplished pianist and seamstress and served as Treasurer of the City of East Palestine. She loved God, her family, friends, music, eating out, working crossword puzzles, and was an avid sports fan. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two infant brothers, brothers John (Olga) Chick and Carmen Chick and sisters, Joanna (Ben) Dodd and Mary (Mario) Ciramella. She is survived by brothers, Donald (Carol) Chick and Dominic (Lynne) Chick, and sisters, Anna O'Brien (Joe - deceased), Elaine Walker, and Theresa (George) Morris, and sister-in-law Lillian (Carmen - deceased) Chick, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be at Oliver Linsley Funeral Home, 644 East Main Street, East Palestine on Wednesday, January 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. A vigil service will be held at 8:15 P.M. at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Thursday, January 31, at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to St. Mary's Ladies Aid Society, or Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 200 East Main Street, or the East Palestine Alumni Association, P.O. Box 342, both of East Palestine, OH 44413. The family wishes to thank Elizabeth's pastor, Fr. Dan Cipar and St. Mary's Ladies Aid Society for their many cards and visits, the caring nurses, aids, and staff at Pleasant View North and Dr. Jeffrey Cohen for their excellent care, and her loving family and friends for their prayers and support.
