Elizabeth Durfey Kelly Gray, a daughter of Follett and Harriet Ward Durfey, was born July 26, 1878 near Lima. Here she grew to womanhood. Read More	(Obituary from Fayette County Newspaper) Services held for Mrs. Elizabeth Gray Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Elizabeth Gray, who died Saturday night at the hospital in West Union. Elizabeth Durfey Kelly Gray, a daughter of Follett and Harriet Ward Durfey, was born July 26, 1878 near Lima. Here she grew to womanhood. On February 23, 1897, she was united in marriage with Ernest Kelly. Nine Children were born to them, five sons and four daughters. They were engaged in business in Fayette for 4 years, in Randalia for 8 years, and in Wadena for about 12 years. Then they farmed in the Lima vicinity. When they retired from farming, they moved to the farm of their son, near Maynard, where they resided in their own small home until Mr. Kelly died on June 19, 1948. Mrs. Kelly continued to make her home there until she was united in marriage with John Gray, August 4, 1953. They lived in Fayette until Mr. Gray died on April 24, 1959. She then made her home with several of the children, until she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in West Union. Mrs. Gray was a member of the Wadena Presbyterian church, and held membership in several clubs in the areas in which she resided. In the past few months she had suffered several heart attacks, and died in Palmer Memorial hospital in West Union on Christmas Eve, December 24, at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 28 days. She is survived by seven children: Lewis Clair Kelly of Chandler, Arizona; Arthur Kelly, of West Union; Karl Kelly ofFayette; Cecil Kelly of Maynard; Mrs. Elsie McCoy of Bellfair, Washington; Nellie (Mrs. Thomas Bergen) of Elkader; Betty (Mrs. Harold Ashby) of Randalia; 27 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Peter Harthan; two brothers: Robert Durfey of Vida, Montana; Merle Durfey of Fayette. One infant son, Russell, one daughter, Mable; her parents and one sister preceded her in death. Services were held at the Lima church, and burial was in the Lima cemetery. (This seems to be incorrect.) The Belles-Wright Funeral Home was in charge of services.
